Ahoy
I'm a freelance writer living on the lands of the Taku River Tlingit First Nation in the small northern town of Atlin, BC.
In 2018, I wrapped up a three-year trip, sailing my 35-foot floating home from Vancouver to Mexico to Australia. After getting married in Mexico, my husband and I set out across the Pacific, spending 26 days alone at sea for our honeymoon (yes, we’re still married!).
Between sail changes and seasickness, I've written for publications including The New York Times, The Globe and Mail, Canadian Geographic, The Tyee, Cottage Life, BoatUS, Cruising World, SAIL, and Sailing World.
I spend time backcountry skiing, skijoring (think dog sledding with skis), and taking orders from my two Siberian huskies.
I’m currently working on a collection of essays and am deeply grateful to the Access Copyright Foundation and Canada Council for the Arts for their support, which has allowed me to dedicate time and energy to this project.
